NEMSC EXCHANGE SEPTEMBER 2007

NEMSC Exchange september 2007

In 2006 an idea was born to strengthen the knowledge and power of the European (bio)medical scientific student conferences. A consortium was formed of two leading European scientific student conferences, ESC-Berlin and ISCOMS-Groningen, and the European Medical Students’ Associaton (EMSA). The Network of Medical Students’ Conferences (NEMSC) was founded, one of its goals is to enhance mobility of medical students. By doing so, we want to give talented students the possibility to explore and expand their own potential.

In line with this goal of enhancing mobility, we arranged a first exchange in the name of the NEMSC. This September, two students from the Charité university of Berlin are in Groningen to perform research at our medical faculty. Chris and Daniel are working on projects at respectively the surgical lab and clinical pharmacology for a month. They will learn about the way we perform research and more specific about organ preservation and heart-lung machine damage. They’re staying at student houses, and they will experience the energetic student life of Groningen as well.

We hope we can continue expanding the possibilities for exchanging knowledge in the future. For now, we made a head start.
