Italian architecture
Groningen is also referred to as the most Italian city north of the Alps, which is obvious from the fact that Italian architects have expressly left their mark on the city. The Groninger Museum, for instance, was designed by Mendini, the Public Library by Grassi, and the Waagstraatcomplex by Natalini.
