Prof. S. Poppema

Prof. S. Poppema studied Medicine in Groningen and combined his training in Pathology with PhD work on the Immunopathology of Hodgkin’s disease in Groningen and partly in Kiel, Germany. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Later he was a Professor of Pathology at the University of Alberta in Canada. He is dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Groningen since 1999 and since 2005 also vice-president of the University Medical Center Groningen. He has published over 200 papers in PubMed covered journals, mainly on the subject of Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
