Pramod Kumar Agarwal
Hoi International friends!
I am Pramod Kumar Agarwal, 24 years old. I am an Indian citizen and I studied Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. I participated in 14th ISCOMS as a presenting participant during my final year of medical studies. Participating in ISCOMS was a life time achievement for me. I hope it would be the same for you this year. During ISCOMS I learned many new things and met many young researchers and listened to many renowned professionals from all around the globe.

The key notes lectures by eminent professors were impressing and were worth listening to. They covered a vast area ranging from regulatory T cells to C. elegans. The plenary presentations from young medical students rejuvenated and inspired me to be like one of them. Furthermore the workshops were very well put and were very friendly. I could choose from a list of various workshops to suit my interest. I attended "scientific writing" and "thinking of doing PhD in UMCG". Both of them were quite lucid and practical. Attending ISCOMS proved to be a turning point for me and I thereafter intended to pursue my career in the field of research. So currently I am doing PhD in UMCG.
The organizing committee had been very friendly and cooperative and was unbelievably active. The International Relations people guided us (me and my friends from Romania) in every step, starting from the acceptance of abstract, visa clearance and travel grants until to the accommodation. The social programme at the end of the days were very well arranged. Apart from being within the walking distance from the congress venue, there was good food, international music, cha-cha and free welcome drink which provided a great ambience to get to know each other better and to relax. We really had loads of fun and a wonderful time.
Now that Romania joined EU it will be really prospective for the medical students to attend ISCOMS with such a European and world reputation and enrich their knowledge and keep them up to date with the on goings in the scientific world. The young Romanians will find it very useful. Last year friends of mine (from Timisoara, Cluj or Bucharest) who attended ISCOMS found it worth attending. Moreover 2 medical students from Romania were granted IRF and they made every use of the opportunity. Every one of us appreciated ISCOMS a lot.
So I wish more students will attend 15th ISCOMS and will use it as a unique platform for exhibiting their talents and enriching their knowledge.
In a nut shell ISCOMS in UMCG provides a perfect venue to meet young professionals as well as an impetus to pursue your career in research and excel.
Bine ati venit la 15th ISCOMS.
