Awards
You can win several awards in multiple categories at ISCOMS. The contents of the awards vary from an amount of money for spending on scientific purpose, to a free one-year subscription to a renowned scientific journal. Each ISCOMS-award is described below.
Best Plenary Presentation
This prestigious award is worth an amount of money of € 2000,-! With this amount of money it is possible to visit a medical congress on the other side of the world if you like! The winner receives also a one-year subscription to a renowned scientific journal. The winner of the best plenary presentation will be chosen from the plenary presentations by our special selected jury of medical scientists and bio-medical students.
Audience Award for Plenary Presentation
The winner of this award will be determined by the audience who can rate every plenary presentation. The presenter appreciated most will receive € 500,- and a free one-year subscription to a renowned scientific journal.
The winner of this award will be chosen from the plenary presentations as well, but by a jury which consists of first-year medical students only. The winner receives a one-year subscription to a renowned scientific journal.
“Best Oral Presentation”, “Best Poster Presentation” and “Best Abstract-clinical sciences”, “Best Abstract-Basic sciences”, “Best abstract-Health sciences and primary care”.
These five awards are for the best oral presentation, the best poster presentation and the best abstracts in the fields of clinical sciences, basic sciences and health sciences and primary care. The winners will be determined by our jury and they will receive a free one-year subscription to a renowned scientific journal.
World Health Award
For the best research either from a developing country or relevant for developing countries in general. The winner of this award will receive a one-year free subscription to the WHO journal of public health.
Performance Award
This new award is meant to focus on the aspect of presenting as well. We want to encourage students to pay attention to their presentation skills. We hand out this award either for the best poster presentation and for the best oral presentation. The winners will receive €100,-.
Pharmacology Award
This year we hand out an award for the best pharmacology related abstract. In collaboration with “100 years of Pharmacology”, the best abstract will be selected. The winner will receive €250,-.
The awards will be presented on Thursday June 5th during the closing ceremony.
