SCIENCE UP THE WORLD 15TH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT CONGRESS OF MEDICAL SCIENCES JUNE 3RD - 6TH 2008

Research & Development

Research & Development - Because we want to keep moving forward...

The committee Research and Development (R&D) is responsible for constant improvement of the congress in general. We, as ISCOMS, want to be a leading forum in medical research exchange and R&D is trying to keep us moving forward.

We have a few projects this year. One of the goals of R&D is to attract more high quality participants from all over the world. By doing so, we want to improve the quality of our congress in general. Furthermore, we will be working on offering all (bio)medical sciences in our programme. We want our programme to include Life Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Movement Sciences besides, of course, Medicine. Last year we founded the Network of European Medical Students’ Congresses (NEMSC) with the ESC-Berlin and the EMSA. This year, it’s one of our objectives to make our consortium work. We want to stimulate interfaculty exchange of high-potential students, enhance our medical science student congresses and promote science in Europe. At first, we will start with just ESC, ISCOMS and EMSA. In the future there will be room for other congresses to join.

For ISCOMS 2008 the committee of R&D will consist of Geert van Rijt and Erik van Bommel. Erik is the chairman and will also be part of the Daily Board. There is a possibility our committee will be expanded later on.
